Tipi

The Tipi has long been the most romanticized shelter of our time.  We grew up with the westerns on TV, we played Cowboys and Indians, and we have all read our history books.  No shelter has been given the exposure that the Tipi has.

We don't interpret the Tipi; we understand it, make it work, and build it accordingly with the classic lean-back design.

Built in three sizes, 15 feet - 18 feet - 21 feet, and on special request, we will build a huge 24 feet lodge.

All our Tipis come with the following items that are standard (not an option):

1.  Seams are triple-rolled on the cover and on top of the liner.

2.  Double thickness stress points.

3.  Hand whipped buttonhole stitched lace pin holes.  We use waxed Irish linen thread.

4.  All peg loops are attached 9" from the covers' edge to allow roll-up or down for vent control.  All peg loops are arranged in between the poles.

5.  All seams of our units are double stitched 100% cotton thread.

6.  12" to 14" turn-in on the bottom of the liner for draft free, airtight set-up when needed.

7.  Ample door height and width for the BIG GUYS.  Very functional roll door for easy entry and exit.

8.  Extension flaps are an integral part of the smoke flaps - not an add-on.  Allows for a watertight button-up with no gaps at the bottom of flaps.

9.  One piece tailored liner with no draft, gaps, or sagging.  All ties are attached to the top, bottom, and ends.

10.  Ties are attached on the ends of the liner for roll back at the door.  Just tie a 6" sapling on and roll up then tuck behind door poles.

11.  Liner bottom attaches to cover pegs.

15' liner = 68" with turn-in

18' liner = 78" with turn-in

21' liner = 78" with turn-in

12.  Doors are included with the tipi.

13.  Liner can be held up with rope or liner staves (see Mr. Walter's article on Tipi set-up in Book of Buckskinning V).

A Four Seasons Lodge can be used year round in any weather condition you may encounter.
